LifeTec Construction Group is a new company on the leading edge of the construction industry, using the world’s most advanced end-to-end cold-formed steel (CFS) building design and construction technology. We are the first organization in Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest to introduce FRAMECAD’s proprietary steel framing technology. By applying the world’s most advanced steel printing software and CNC machinery, we render, print and assemble light gauge steel structures in ¼ of the time when compared to traditional framing methods. We pre-assemble our panels in our Port Kells, Surrey, BC factory and install steel wall panels, floor joists, and roof trusses, which is where you come in.

    Position: Steel Framer

    SHOP AND SITE STEEL FRAMERS:

    These positions are very important to our organization. We need a quick-minded, bright and energetic individuals, capable of working semi-autonomously, with a commitment to integrity, honesty and forthrightness in all dealings and with a genuine passion for shop/site steel framing.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Build and assemble all prefab products in the pre-fabrication facility and install on construction sites.
    • Take ownership to deliver the best quality of all prefab product builds and installs for a successful installation.
    • Make safety a priority for yourself and the team, from conception to completion of builds in the shop and site, ensuring the whole team goes home safe.
    • Work collaboratively with all team members, including the drawing office, project management, shop and site in sequencing of production, loading, logistics and delivery of finished pre-fabricated assemblies to the project site.
    • Maintain records and lists of operations, stock and tool and inventory as required.
    • Communicate regularly / openly and be on the watch for “Murphy”, anticipate where things could go wrong and plan accordingly, and maintain continuous improvement.
    • Other ad hoc responsibilities.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Minimum of 2 years industry experience in light gauge steel work experience.
    • Ability to read and interpret blue- print drawings required.
    • General familiarity and understand of the use of hand tools would be a definite asset.
    • Valid certification in WHMIS, Fall Protection, First Aid Level 1 and as a Forklift Operator.
    • Ability to work physically demanding environment (requires standing, bending for prolong periods, and lifting 50lbs or more)
    • Personally, you are detailed, accurate, organized and disciplined in your approach and delivery and mechanically inclined and willing to assist as required.
    • Intermediate MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required.
